Better Life in Recovery is the most recent organization in Missouri to receive designation as a Recovery Friendly Workplace (RFW). Becoming a RFW demonstrates Better Life in Recovery’s support for their communities and recognizes the strength of those in recovery and their potential to live productive lives.

Better Life in Recovery is a Springfield, MO, organization of individuals in long-term recovery and allies who believe that recovery is possible. They celebrate those in long-term recovery and offer hope to those living with substance use and other mental health issues. David Stoecker, Executive Director of Better Life in Recovery, describes their mission, “We deal in hope and foster dignity for those who live with substance use and other mental health issues through community service, awareness, and education that celebrates individuals in long-term recovery.” David is quick to share his personal story “From dope dealer to Hope Dealer” as an encouragement to others struggling with substance use and for those who have loved ones “in the clutches of addiction.”

David shared with the Recovery Network of Springfield, Recovery Friendly Workplaces says, that “You support recovery in the community, and you believe people get better.”

Recovery Friendly Workplaces encourage a healthy and safe workplace environment where employers and communities collaborate to create positive change that eliminates barriers for employees and individuals impacted by addiction.
